Homeowners with radiant heating systems may qualify for settlement
August 17, 2007

If you have radiant heating systems in your home or if you have interest in buying a home with radiant heat, you may qualify for a settlement. The settlement comes as a result of a class-action lawsuit that alleges Goodyear made a defective Entran II hose — a component commonly installed as part of radiant heating or snow-melting systems. After only a few years, property owners found the hose became discolored, cracked and often leaked causing property damage. The problem has particularly plagued mountain properties.

In 2004, a judge granted final approval for a class-action settlement. As a result, potential class members can file a claim form if they are interested in possibly receiving payment. Class members must own or have owned property in any state or U.S. territory, must have an Entran II hose made by Goodyear that was or is used for a radiant heating system on the property, and must submit a claim form no later than Nov. 17, 2009.

More information about the Entran II hose and the class-action settlement is available at www.entraniisettlement.com/ushome.shtml.
