General Information
Midvale City has one of the most diverse populations in the Salt Lake Valley. The cultural and ethnic richness of the residents is an acknowledged asset to the community.
Origin of City's Name
Midvale was called Bingham Junction, since the town was on the way west to Bingham, The name was later changed to Midvale because it was a prosperous centrally located community.

The community was initially named East Jordan Ward.
